The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced Tuesday that its subsidiary Mellitah Oil and Gas Company completed re-drilling the Fourth Well in the El Feel field, with a production capacity of about 3,500 barrels of oil per day.NOC Chairman, Farhat Bengdara, “praised all the national efforts that contributed to achieving this work,” NOC said in a statement.The Corporation noted out that restoring the well to production comes within its plan to improve and raise the level of crude oil production.NOC aspires to increase oil production to 2 million barrels per day. Libya currently produces about 1.2 million barrels per day.

During a technical meeting held at NOC headquarters in Tripoli on 2nd November 2023, OMV declared that it will begin exploratory drilling in Libya at the beginning of February 2024. During this meeting, held with the Exploration Department of NOC, OMV discussed the details of the works it carried out during this year 20223, as well as the works to be performed next year after the lifting of Force Majeure last September.The meeting was attended by Director of the Exploration Department of NOC, Deputy CEO of OMV in Libya, Director of OMV Exploration Department and specialists from both parties. 

The Libyan National Oil Corporation announced that the Spanish company Repsol will begin exploratory drilling activities in the contract area of the Murzuq Basin in early April 2024.This came during a meeting held at the Corporation’s headquarters in Tripoli, attended by exploration managers from both sides, as well as a number of specialists, to discuss Repsol’s exploration activity for 2023 and the projects expected to be implemented in 2024, according to a statement issued by the National Oil Corporation.Abdel Moneim Boutayakh, Director of Exploration at the Corporation, stated that the company announced the start of fieldwork to prepare for drilling operations that are expected to begin in April.Last August, the National Oil Corporation announced the success of drilling operations in an exploratory well belonging to the Sirte Company for Production…
